Ecliptic Divide — Cement & Copper Triptych
A commanding study in material tension and balance, Ecliptic Divide unites structure, texture, and image into a singular sculptural composition. Handcast in cement and divided by custom copper piping, this large-scale frame holds three of Lindsey Brunsman’s original photographic metal prints — each embedded within the piece as part of its design rather than decoration.
The raw surface of the cement bears the marks of process — rugged, stratified, and unpredictable — while the copper introduces warmth and geometry, slicing through the form with quiet precision. Together, they evoke the interplay between permanence and change: industry meeting nature, decay meeting refinement.
At nearly four feet tall, Ecliptic Divide commands attention as both frame and sculpture. It exists at the intersection of art, design, and construction — a fusion of photography and material that transforms its environment with weight and presence.
This particular piece was designed and constructed as a one-of-one work. Similar large-scale cement and copper pieces can be created to order, each uniquely composed through process, patina, and proportion.
Dimensions: Approx. 28" × 48" overall, each metal print 16" × 24"
Materials: Cement, copper, photographic metal prints
Finish: Sealed for longevity while maintaining raw texture
One of one — original work by Lindsey Brunsman / Strata Fusions
